About the Author
Mohinder L. Nayyar, P.E., ASME Fellow, is Senior Engineering Specialist for piping and valves in the engineering department of the Bechtel Power Corporation in Frederick, Maryland, and the Editor-in-Chief and an author of the sixth and seventh editions of the field-leading Piping Handbook. As a Bechtel consultant, he has assisted many leading companies, and has supervised and supported both nuclear- and fossil-fueled projects around the world. He is Chairman of the Materials Technical Committee of the ASME B31, Pressure Piping Code, and of Materials Group of ASME B31.1, Power Piping Code; a member of ASME B16 Main Committee; and several other standards committees. He lives in Brookeville, Maryland.

A Step Above The Pipefitter's Handbook

This book is perfect for anyone looking to make detailed pipeline layouts. A CAD engineer would find this resource very helpful for designing while not in the field (as long as he or she has first consulted the chemical engineer's calculations and specifications). You can waste much time scouring the internet for dimensional information, but this book compiles a great deal without needing to subscribe to ASME, etc. codes and standards journals. The best feature is the suppliers/manufacturers index in the back of the book.

No Pressure Ratings in a Piping Databook?

How do you feel when you get a 900 page databook for pipes and fittings and you cannot find any pressure ratings for pipes? I felt dissappointed and do not recommend this book to you. It's got a lot of information, tables, dimensions extracted from standards, but not good enough to rely as a complete (or even near to complete) source of piping data.
